On a day trip out in the car about 30 years ago we spotted this house, it brought back memories, I remembered passing it as a child on a similar trip with my parents. We have since passed it a fair few times always somehow noticing it. I painted this from a photo I had taken and the more I was looking at it the more I was getting drawn by it. I can imagine parts of its historical lineage, I can nearly picture it and it's occupants 100 years ago and life around it at that time. It seems to tell of happiness and love, peacefulness and prosperity, getting added onto as the family expanded. Due to its location I can't imagine it was entirely peaceful throughout its evolution. I wonder what tales it could tell if it could speak. Or am I just being silly. Either way, one day I am going to go and find out. |
