Castle Paintings from Scotland

With the yucky weather this winter calling a halt to our excursions,
we had a dig through our photo's for topics to paint.

This was the result of one we found, the problem was we
couldn't for the life of us remember where it was.
Not a good selling point for a painting, we did remember the setting
by a big loch on a winding road through the mountains in the north
it was built of granite and in a beautiful condition.
Then as luck would have it we were watching The Missionary film
with the Palin guy from monty pythons and there was our castle.
It all came back then.
Ardverikie Castle or Lodge, I suppose, built around 1870 the
third attempt the previous two burning down. Located of the
road from Aviemore to Fort William
featured in Monarch of the Glen and Mrs Brown.
