Scottish artists showing a painting of Ben Nevis

by the Caledonian Canal

scottish

This painting views from Corpach on the corner where Loch Linnhe
shapes in to the Caledonian Canal. A popular spot for artists painting and
also tourists affording a wide panoramic view over the water to Fort William
with Ben Nevis in the background. The canal was opened
in 1822 having taken 17 years to build. It joins the east and
west coast through the Great Glen up through Loch Ness and is still
in use today although mainly by pleasure boats there are still the odd
fishing vessels saving a few miles or avoiding bad weather round the cape.

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Britain.
It stands at 4406 feet or 1344metres.

the painting is 8x10 inches approx. 20x25cms
