Originally a small fishing community gathered round
a natural harbour on a sea loch.
Plockton is situated in the west highlands and benefits
from the gulf stream, which is evident by the palm
trees growing on the shore line.
It was possibly the last view of Scotland to some it was
used as one of the embarkation points during the
clearances. Today it is a haven for tourists and artists
